HALOS Projects

HALOS programs supplement and support the constrained budgets that help needy clients involved with Charleston County DSS. The needs of youth and elderly are not always met due to the budgetary constraints in agency funding.

The following programs are annual and ongoing:

BIRTHDAY SALUTES HALOS foster children are reminded that the day of their birth is worthy of celebration when they receive a card and gift certificate or gift.	SUMMER CAMP Donations from HALOS partners and camp scholarships allow children to attend various summer camp programs.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL DRIVE HALOS school children begin the school year ready to learn with new supplies and uniforms.	HOLIDAY GIVING Over 1300 children each year receive gifts through HALOS friends and partners.
SELF ESTEEM ENHANCEMENT (SEE PROGRAM) Scholarships for lessons in music, art, drama, dance and sports are available to children who show an interest in these areas. The SEE program is designed to bolster children's self esteem by encouraging their talents and interests.	SPECIAL NEEDS Furniture, bunk beds, prom dresses, duffle bags, hygiene kits, baby items, appliances, needs of the elderly.
